The State Street Transit Orientated Development (TOD) Policy Guidelines help to clarify the intent of participating agencies and to provide direction for development along State Street - within the corridor and at specific nodes. Transit orientated development creates a higher density, walkable, mixed-use environment in order to promote market-drive development (and redevelopment) while also encouraging increases in transit use within the corridor.

The guidelines with the booklet will form the basis for specific policies and new TOD Ordinances to be adopted by the local jurisdictions.
