Here is the final public comment report that provides a detailed look at what you had to say in regards to the service change proposals.
Our Valley Regional Transit planners have reviewed every comment you made – the positives, the negatives, the service suggestions. They are currently taking your input into consideration as they develop a second draft version of service change proposals. There will be changes made based on public input.
This second round of gathering public comment will include specific proposals to cut service in Canyon County due to anticipated funding shortfalls for fiscal year 2019. VRT planners are still developing the specific service cut proposals.
VRT planners reviewed the revised draft of the proposed service changes at the August 6th meeting of the Executive Board. The decision was made at the meeting to postpone two open houses/public hearings that were tentatively scheduled for late August to allow for further review of the proposed changes.
We also will be updating a page on this website that provides comprehensive information about the service change process, including maps, links to an online survey, and more details on how to provide comment. The page will also include more details about the proposed service cuts. An exact date for when we can go live with this page is still undetermined.
We want to assure you that we will continue to listen to what you have to say about the proposals. Our ultimate goal in implementing any changes to the system is to maximize existing resources and provide riders the opportunity to get to more places more often.
