At the Tuesday, April 2nd, 6 p.m. Caldwell City Council meeting, the council will decide between resolutions to approve VRT funding. The resolutions can be found under the “New Business” section of the meeting agenda packet:
Item 4a ($495,142) would:
- Fund existing VRT On-Demand services
- Add a new Route 56 on Caldwell Blvd, which would serve the Caldwell Events Center, downtown Caldwell, the Steunenberg residential historic district, College of Idaho, Walmart, and Happy Day Transit Center
- Support the restructured service on routes 40 and 42
- Fund VRT Access service through downtown Caldwell and along Caldwell Blvd
- NOT fund Route 58 serving south Caldwell, which was previously approved by the VRT Board of Directors and the Caldwell City Council and would have served the Caldwell Police Station, Social Security Office, the Caldwell Library, West Valley Medical, YMCA, Walmart, and the Happy Day Transit Center
Item 4b ($345,142) would:
- Fund existing VRT On-Demand services
- Support the restructured service on routes 40 and 42
- Restrict VRT Access service to the Happy Day Transit Center area
- NOT fund Route 56 serving Caldwell Blvd, which was previously approved by the VRT Board of Directors and the Caldwell City Council and would serve the Caldwell Events Center, downtown Caldwell, the Steunenberg residential historic district, College of Idaho, Walmart, and Happy Day Transit Center
- NOT fund Route 58 serving south Caldwell, which was previously approved by the VRT Board of Directors and the Caldwell City Council and would have served the Caldwell Police Station, Social Security Office, the Caldwell Library, West Valley Medical, YMCA, Walmart, and the Happy Day Transit Center
