13th St. in Downtown Boise will be closed between Front St and Main St from 2/5/2024 to 3/20/2024. Operators will take the Fairview exit (exit 3), and follow Fairview until it curves to the right and becomes Main St. No stops will be missed. Any passengers that have to be dropped off at Main & 13th on route 40, will be dropped off on the nearside of the intersection.

Access Paratransit

Access is a paratransit transportation service operated by Valley Regional Transit through the tax support of local municipalities. Designed to complement fixed-route and on-demand bus systems, this service is available to people who are unable to utilize the fixed-route or on-demand bus systems because of a disability. Eligibility may be limited on a conditional basis, and each trip can be reviewed.

Access Rider Guide

Access is a curb-to-curb transit service for the cities of Boise, Garden City, Nampa, Caldwell, and Meridian. The Boise/Garden City service operates Monday through Saturday with the same hours as the fixed-line bus system. There is also a paratransit service available in Nampa and Caldwell that operates Monday through Friday with the same hours as the on-demand service. The Boise Access fleet consists of 15 vehicles, each with a seating capacity of eight passengers. The Nampa Access fleet consists of two vehicles, each with a capacity of 12 passengers.

All Access vehicles can accommodate wheelchairs. All stations are equipped to serve every member of our population. 

  • Pickup and drop-off locations for Access service will be within three-fourths of a mile of fixed-route service.
  • Service is by reservation only. Trips may be booked up to 14 days in advance, but no later than 5:00 p.m., for service the next operating day.
  • All Access passengers must keep their certification current and re-apply when their certification expires.
  • Once approved, Access fares are $3 per one-way trip for each passenger and for each guest. A personal care attendant may ride for free.
