Starting on Monday the August 31st outbound route 8s will be on a new detour. Following stops will be closed TFN: ID and 13th, ID and 15th, Main and 17th, Main and 24th, Main and 27th.

Starting on Monday the August 31st outbound route 7s will be on a new detour. Following stops will be closed TFN: ID and 13th, ID and 15th, Main and 17th, Main and 24th, Main and 27th, Fairview and Orchard. There will be a temp stop placed on the far-side of Fairview and Orchard.

Due to road construction, Route 16 will be on detour August 18 - September 25. A temporary stop will be placed on Garrison across from Elks Lane.

The stop at Glenwood and Chinden, near the Fairgrounds, has been closed. A temp stop has been placed on the far side of the entrance to the Fairground Parking Lot.

The stop on Latah and Alpine towards MSS is closed for construction and temp stop placed near side.

Route 28 is on small detour at Frank Church High School; the bus will be taking right onto Salt Creek from Pro Tech, servicing the temp stop on Salt Creek, and then taking a right on Trabuco back to regular route.

Volunteer Driver Program

The Volunteer Driver program provides safe and reliable transportation to and from essential services — places like medical facilities, social services, nutrition sites, etc.

How it Works

The Volunteer Driver Program operates in both Ada County and Canyon County. Rides can be scheduled for any time of day but must be requested at least two business days prior to the day the ride is needed. Call VRT Customer Service at 208-345-7433 to schedule a ride.

  • Hours of operation: Rides may be requested at any time but are subject to the availability of drivers.
  • Cost: $5 per 12-mile segment and $0.50 per additional mile.
  • Volunteer Driver rides can take up to 4 passengers per trip at no extra cost
