New detour on the Outbound Route 9. From 5th, Left on Idaho, Right on 15th, Left on State. Stops on State at 9th, 11th, 15th, and 18th will be closed. We will be servicing stops on Idaho Outbound. We will be returning to regular route on the Inbound side. A temporary stop has been placed at State and 21st. Inbound stop at State and 9th has been closed due to construction.

Route 8 Chinden connects VRT’s Main Street Station in downtown Boise to Discovery & Chinden via Chinden Boulevard, providing service to points of interest such as:

Boise City Hall, Cherie Buckner Webb Park, Boise River Greenbelt, Crossroads Plaza, Expo Idaho & Boise Fairgrounds, Chinden DMV, Joplin Elementary School, West YMCA, Andrus Elementary School

9/3/24 schedule update

Route 8 began an updated schedule effective Tuesday, September 3rd, with adjusted bus arrival times to improve on-time performance at:

  • N Discovery Way & E Chinden Blvd
  • State of Idaho Chinden Campus
  • W Chinden Blvd & N Kent Ln
  • Chinden Blvd & W 39th St
  • Main Street Station Upper Deck

Route 8 moved to the Main Street Station Upper Deck effective 9/9.
