VRT October Service Change

Service Area: Ada and Canyon Counties

Valley Regional Transit will implement several service changes beginning Thursday, October 1, 2026. The changes include updates to Routes 30 and 40, VRT On-Demand, and VRT Access service in Meridian, Nampa, and Caldwell.

Route 30 – Pine

• Route 30 Pine will be discontinued based on low ridership and the availability of alternative service.
• Current Route 30 riders will be able to continue making similar connections using Route 45.

Route 40

• Route 40 service in Nampa will be eliminated following the Nampa City Council’s decision to partially fund VRT services.
• The updated Route 40 will begin at Happy Day Transit Center and travel to downtown Caldwell instead of Nampa.
• From Caldwell, the route will use the Franklin Road on-ramp to access I-84, stop at the Ten Mile Park & Ride in Meridian, and continue to Boise State University.

VRT On-Demand

• VRT On-Demand service in Nampa will be eliminated.
• VRT On-Demand will continue operating in Caldwell.
• Caldwell riders will still be able to travel to designated VRT partner destinations in Nampa, including St. Luke’s, Saint Alphonsus, and College of Western Idaho (CWI) campuses.
• Riders can also use VRT On-Demand to reach the CWI Main Campus Park & Ride and connect with Route 42.

VRT Access

• With the discontinuation of Route 30 Pine in Meridian, the VRT Access service area associated with Route 30 will also be discontinued.
• VRT’s other paratransit and medical transportation services, including Beyond Access and Rides2Wellness, will continue to be available.

These changes reflect local funding decisions, ridership levels, and VRT’s efforts to provide as much useful and reliable service as possible with available resources.

VRT will provide information and assistance to riders ahead of the October 1 transition.
